If you’re in the market for a teleprompter for your web projects, an affordable mobile solution may be ideal for you, and B&H carries several that cost less than $200 at the time of this writing. These teleprompters use a tablet or smartphone instead of a dedicated monitor to produce scrolling text, and this allows them to be very compact in design, to work without any power cables or external batteries, and to provide an easier to transition for someone new to teleprompting. Let’s check out which one would work best for you.

Looking for a new surveillance kit? Megapixels, hard drives, bullet cameras, and dome cameras—ugh. Where do you begin? Picking out a surveillance system can be difficult but, thankfully, Swann has released new kits to help simplify that process. All six of the kits mentioned here include the same network video recorder (NVR) and come with an assortment of camera options.
First and foremost, the NVR has eight inputs, allowing you to connect eight network cameras to keep an eye on eight areas around your home or business. Simple enough, right?

When the Canon XC10 camera was presented at NAB 2015, I immediately became curious about it—joining many others who record their opinions on the great and all-powerful Internet, I couldn’t place my finger on the targeted end-users of this camera. The spec sheet lists 4K UHD recording at a whopping 305 Mbps from a 1" sensor to CFast 2.0 cards, C-LOG and other picture profiles from the EOS C series, a relatively small ergonomic form factor with a rotating side-handle, a few customizable buttons, a tilting LCD with touchscreen controls, a Canon

It would be an understatement if I said that I travel often for the work that I do. Whether it’s for a major client and I spend two weeks running around San Francisco, or I’m shooting for fun with friends while out on a hike, I have little patience for gear that is either heavy or useless. GoPros and smartphones often find their way into my kits and, in this review, I’ll be sharing some insight on a series of cases from Lowepro that were made with POV action cameras in mind, as well as a unique jib concept from Joby that’s made to work with

Beginning December 21, 2015, the FAA will require all drones ("SUA" in FAA terminology) weighing between 0.55 and 55 pounds to be registered before operating outdoors. Failure to register can result in stiff penalties, which can include fines of up to $27,000 or, where criminal liability has been found, a fine of up to $250,000 and up to three years in jail. What this new requirement means for the hobbyist or consumer is that all but the smallest nano-scale quadcopters will need to be registered to be flown outdoors. A

As prices continue to plummet and resolution continues to rise, it is becoming commonplace for amateur and hobbyist photographers to purchase a high-quality digital stills camera—mirrorless or DSLR. Even a photographer with a $500 camera can capture amazing clarity with just about no training whatsoever. Almost every one of these cameras now has the option to shoot video, usually in an HD resolution (or even 4K video, on some models). Lots of photographers, even the professional ones, are clueless when it comes to picking the best settings,

Just when I thought I was going to have a relaxing weekend at home watching Netflix and catching up on some reading, one of the hottest new items in town was dropped onto my desk: the Sony a7RII. Ever since it was first announced, the a7RII is a camera that I couldn't wait to get my hands on, as it is the first in the a7 family to record 4K (UHD) video internally; a feature that many a7S owners—myself included—would love to have. The camera seemed almost too good to be true, offering internal 4K (3840 x 2160) recording in full-frame and Super

Right of out of the gate, I should admit that I'm not a macro shooter. While I've owned and used lenses with short minimum focusing distances, I've rarely ever shot with a true macro. So, when offered the chance to do a hands-on review with the new Rokinon 100mm T3.1 Cine DS lens, my interest was piqued. Covering full frame sensors, the manual focus, portrait-length lens is the latest addition to Rokinon’s cine-style family, which consists of modified versions of the

We’ve all seen video from surveillance cameras, whether on news programs, TV and/or movies, and via the Internet. Surveillance can and should be an important part of a physical protection system, and helps provide peace of mind to homeowners, parents, and employers, by allowing you to keep an eye on things when you cannot be physically present. However, there is an enormous range of products available, with great variations in price, complexity, and

By their nature, it is easy to assume the Zeiss Cinemizer OLED 3D glasses are just for personal entertainment—gaming and unobtrusively enjoying movies, or as a portable alternative to a TV or projection system. But Zeiss wants you to think of them as something much more: a distributive technology redefining the way

Sony has announced two new Handycam camcorders, each with 1” image sensors at CES 2014. The second camera, the HDR-CX900 has a practically identical design and feature set, sans the
